Norwegian retailer NorgesGruppen has set an upper limit of NOK 8.5 million (€860,000) for its environmental fund for employees for the year 2020.
The fund provides financial support to employees for implementing power-saving measures in their homes and purchasing eco-friendly vehicles for personal use.
This year, the company will accept applications from employees amounting to a total of NOK 5.5 million (€560,000) in January.
For the remaining NOK 3 million (€310 million), the company will invite applications in August or September of this year.
The company has reduced the maximum support per employee from NOK 20,000 (just over €2,030) to NOK 12,500 (€1,270) to extend the financial support to more employees.
It has also removed hybrid cars from its list of eco-friendly vehicles as electric cars now offer improved options.
In 2019, the company allotted NOK 7.5 million (€760,000) for its environmental fund.
