Online retailer GoodAfter.com, which sells products that are closed of past their best before date, has confirmed its arrival in Spain.
As reported by revistainforetail.com, following the company's launch in Portugal just three months ago, it has already surpassed sales of five tonnes' worth of products.
Now the site has extended its presence to Spain, with the goal of "fighting waste while offering costumers products that are safe to consume, at very affordable prices", explained Chantal Camps de Gispert, the company's founder.
GoodAfter.com offers discounts of up to 70% on the average retail price of products that are close to or recently past their best before date but that continue to be safe for human consumption and that are allowed to be sold legally. The company emphasises that it never sells expired food.
Its over 400 products exclude fresh and perishable goods, but include preserves, soft drinks and canned products as well as many non-food items and discontinued cosmetics.
