Over 700 suppliers have signed up to Russian supermarket retailer X5 Retail Group's new Code of Interaction with Business Partners, since it was introduced in November of last year.
The code was designed to establish standards that X5 Retail Group expects both its employees and partners to comply with when doing business, in order to ensure integrity, transparency and efficiency across its supply chain.
The Code builds on the Code of Good Practice that is recognised as the industry standard for self-regulation of supplier-retailer relations, as well as global best practices.
X5 says that since 2015, over 700 business supplying goods and services to its stores have signed up to the code, include major food producers like Ostankino Dairy Plant, Mikoyan Meat Processing Plant, Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods, Heineken Russia, Mars, and Danone.
X5 Retail Group hopes to have code endorsed by as many of its partners as possible.
