Italian retailer Pam Panorama is planning to open 60 Pam Local convenience stores as part of its 2020/21 strategic development plan.
Launched in 2013, the Pam Local format has expanded in recent years and now serves more than 500,000 customers per week.
So far, 110 stores have been opened under the banner, the latest in Siena and Alessandria, and there are plans for next year to open around 30 outlets, both directly managed and franchised.
The Pam Local stores offer a range of tailor-made meal solutions, home delivery services, as well as low prices as a result of the Prezzo Promesso promotional initiative.
Pam Local customers also have the option to deposit and withdraw cash from their current account directly via the mobile banking app on their smartphone. This is the result of a partnership with German fintech company viacash, initially implemented in May.
Store Estate
Next year, Pam Panorama also plans to open five supermarkets and superstores, as well as instigate a complete redevelopment of its oldest stores by 2021.
The group is also experimenting with Pam City, a format with offers a wider range of food to go items.
Pam Panorama has also accelerated activities in support of private label products, which currently account for 40% of turnover.
