European consumers recognise Spanish brands for their quality, a study conducted by Vente-Privee and the Foro de Marcas Renombradas Españolas has found.
As reported on revistainforetail.com, the study reached over 800 respondents in Italy, France, Germany and the UK. It found that 83 per cent of European consumers consider that Spanish brands offer good quality, especially in the food, fashion and hotel chains categories.
The countries in which consumers hold Spanish brands in the highest regard are Italy (76 per cent) and Germany (74 per cent). However, while Spanish fashion brands are highly recognisable for European consumers (93 per cent), food products are the least known, with only 29 per cent recognition.
Zara is the most recognised Spanish brand among German and British consumers. For Italians and French, it's Desigual.
Spanish brands are also perceived as good value; about 60 per cent of EU consumers consider that Spanish brands offer a good price/quality balance.
