X5 Retail Group has announced that its Perekrestok banner has extended its express delivery service to all areas of Moscow within the Moscow Ring Road.
The retailer has also expanded its order assembly base from nine stores to 46 supermarkets.
Pilot Project
In April of this year, the service was launched as a pilot project to offer shoppers an alternative to daily trips to Perekrestok supermarkets in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The service saw a fairly high level of customer satisfaction with repeat orders reaching 60% in May, the company said.
Shoppers used Perekrestok loyalty cards for 80% of purchases, and residents in Yasenevo, Izmailovo and Yuzhnoye Medvedkovo districts used the service most frequently.
Good Business Results
CEO of X5 Retail Group, Igor Shekhterman, commented, “The pilot project for the express deliveries from Perekrestok supermarkets was launched within a short time and with heightened attention to service quality.
“In less than a month of operation, the service achieved good business results and enjoyed significant interest from customers.”
The service offers an assortment ranging from 9,000 to 14,000 SKUs and orders are assembled by Perekrestok employees, while deliveries are handled by specialised grocery delivery services.
