Dutch retailer Plus has announced that it has introduced a new range of smoked chicken sausages that featured 'Beter Leven' certification.
The new product, Gijs fresh chicken smoked sausage, is developed from three-star certified chicken sourced from the De Haam farm, operated by David Janssen.
Eggs from Janssen's farm, which have acquired a three-star 'Beter Leven' quality mark for animal care standards, are also part of Plus's product assortment.
Dutch Products
Gijs has been manufacturing Dutch products for Plus for the past 10 years.
The introduction of the new product is aimed to make the retailer's supply chain more sustainable and transparent for consumers.
The sausage, which is smoked on beech wood, scored significantly better than other chicken smoked sausages in a consumer survey, Plus said in a statement.
