Dutch retailer Plus has appointed Duncan Hoy as its new CEO, according to a press release.
He will succeed Jan Brouwer, who had been the company CEO since 2014.
Hoy previously held the position of managing director of Large Stores for Tesco UK, which he held since June 2016.
In July 2013, he took charge as director of shop operations with Dutch retailer Jumbo.
Extensive Experience
“With Duncan we have someone on board with extensive experience in strategic management, e-commerce and food retail. We look forward to seeing how he will use his knowledge and expertise to take Plus to the next stage and wish him all the best, ” said Kees Wantenaar, chairman of the supervisory board.
The newly appointed CEO also shared his enthusiasm and said, “In my previous positions, I enjoyed working with independent entrepreneurs. Plus is the supermarket organization for and for independent entrepreneurs and I am looking forward to working with the Plus entrepreneurs."
In July of this year, the retailer announced a consumer turnover of over €1.2 billion for the first half of 2018.
