The retail trade turnover index in Portugal witnessed a year-on-year decline of 3.0% in July 2020, according to the Instituto Nacional de Estatística (the National Statistical Institute of Portugal).
However, the index was 2.7 percentage points higher than the rate observed in June of this year.
The calendar-adjusted indices for employment, wages and salaries, and hours worked registered a year-on-year decline of 3.6%, 0.6% and 8.3% respectively.
On a month-on-month basis, the employment index dropped by 3.2%, while the wages and salaries index fell 0.7% and the hours worked index declined by 10.5%.
