Portuguese 'anti-waste' supermarket GoodAfter.com has launched a 'Click and Collect Store service.
After ordering food and non-food products that are near the end date of preferential consumption, consumers can now pick them up on the same day, at no additional cost.
The pick-up point is the Hipercentro, located in Porto’s business park. Customers living in the remaining areas of the country can continue to receive purchases at an address of their convenience.
Since launching three months ago, Goodafter.com has prevented from throwing away of 5.5 tonnes of food and non-food items.
According to co-founder, Chantel de Gispert, results achieved so far have exceeded expectations and have led to the expansion of storage space for the goods.
Consumers have access to over 300 grocery, health, hygiene, beverage and home care products.
