German retail group REWE has announced that the CFO of its Toom Baumarkt, Wolfgang Vogt, will join the management of Penny Italy, effective 1 January 2019.
Vogt will report to the divisional board member of Penny International, Michael Jäger.
Vogt joined the REWE Group in 2004, and has held various roles in the organisation including the head of strategy development at Toom Baumarkt and REWE Germany.
Niko Johns will take over as the new CFO of Toom Baumarkt, and will report to the company’s CEO and divisional board member, René Hassfeld.
Johns joined the retail group in 2008, where he initially worked as functional area manager for mergers and acquisitions. In 2012 he was named the managing director of REWE Group consumer electronics.
In 2015, he moved to WASGAU Produktions & Handels AG as a member of its executive board.
In 2017, the REWE Group reported total external sales of around €58 billion.
Founded in 1927, it is one of the leading trade and tourism groups in Germany and Europe, with more than 345,000 employees and 15,300 stores in 22 European countries.
