Following a donation of €10,000 from Rewe Group, the German 'Bundesverband der Tafeln' (federal association for refugee relief) charity has announced that it is able to help around 280,000 refugees.
The donation will be evenly divided among 20 so-called 'Tafeln', which will go towards providing assistance to refugees. Each 'Tafel' is an autonomous organisation.
As part of the German Tafel-day on 22 September in Berlin, Rewe was rewarded with the 'Tafel-Teller 2016' award, by the Bundesverband der Tafeln, for its continous support.
