German retailer Rewe has urged customers to shop for Easter in the coming days to make food shopping and supply easier during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
The retail giant has assured that it is prepared to offer the best possible assortment of food products for Easter at Rewe and Penny outlets.
However, with access and distance regulations in the markets across Germany it would be easier if customers distributed their Easter purchases over the coming days.
Lionel Souque, CEO of the Rewe Group, explained, “This will relieve the burden on Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday, on which we usually experience particularly high demand with more than 10 million customers."
"This is also an important contribution to the protection of both our customers and our employees in the markets, who continue to do the utmost to ensure that we keep our markets going," he added.
