Germany's REWE Group has named Jan-Peer Brenneke as the new managing director of REWE International AG and the divisional board for Commodity Trade International in Wiener Neudorf in Austria, effective 1 April 2018.
He will be responsible for quality management and private-label products in Austria, as well as seeking to strengthen and develop Penny International and Billa CEE.
Brenneke will report to Jan Kunath, the deputy chairman of REWE Group's executive board.
A Seasoned Professional
Brenneke is a seasoned professional and most recently served as the managing director of REWE Group Buying GmbH in Cologne.
He joined REWE Group as head of strategy and project management in August 2009.
Prior to that, he worked in various trading companies in Germany in purchasing and category management.
Other Changes
Divisional Board member of Trade International, Marcel Haraszti, will continue to handle product assortment in Austria with the trading companies Billa, Merkur, Bipa, Bipa Croatia and Adeg.
Haraszti will take on the additional responsibility of the technical department, as well as strategy and marketing of private labels in Austria.
Marcel Weber, the division head of private-label fresh and frozen foods and private-label purchasing international, will replace Brenneke as the managing director of REWE Group Buying GmbH from 1 April 2019.
