Russian retailer Magnit has launched a new online ordering and delivery service, offering around 5,000 SKUs with delivery available within 60 minutes or at a predefined time within the following two days.
The new service, which is being initially launched within all districts of Moscow within the MKAD ring road, is available via the Magnit Dostavka app.
The range of products available includes food, non-food and fresh produce, with promotional discounts that are similar to those available in the retailer's stores.
In time, Magnit said that it plans to connect its e-commerce platform to the single loyalty program allowing accrual and redemption of bonuses for online purchases.
Partnership
The project is being piloted in partnership with Yandex.Eda, which worked alongside Magnit on the development of the platform.
"The development of omni-channel services under our own brand is a key component of Magnit's strategy," commented Florian Jansen, Magnit's executive director and deputy CEO. "It is extremely important for us to allow millions of our customers across the country to enjoy high-quality and modern services.
"Launching a delivery service in Moscow is one of the first steps in this direction, and we have many digital product initiatives in the pipeline and a long way to go."
