Russian retailer O’Key Group opened a total of 19 discounter outlets, trading under its Da! brand, in 2018, with six outlets opened in the month of December alone.
The group said that the development of the Da! brand is one of the ‘main priorities’ of the group. It unveiled its first Da! outlet in 2015, and that that the format has shown a ‘continuing improvement’ in financial performance.
With the opening of the new stores, the number of Da! outlets now stands at 82.
New Openings
The openings in December were located in Dmitrovsky District and Elektrogorsk (Moscow Region); at Odoevsky Avenue and Novomoskovskoye Avenue in Tula, and at Mytischi and Naro-Fominsk
‘This rapid rate of store openings is in line with the Group’s strategic objective to actively expand the discounters’ format,’ the group said.
Overall, O’Key Group operates 159 stores across Europe, under both hypermarket and discounter banners. It opened its first hypermarket in St. Petersburg in 2002.
