UK digital retailer Argos has announced the appointment of its new marketing director, Gary Kibble.
Reporting to the chief digital and marketing officer, Bertrand Bodson, Kibble will join the company in a 'few months'. He will also be a member of the Sainsbury's Argos management board.
He will replace Stephen Vowles, who had filled the position prior to Sainsbury's acquisition in 2016.
Before this new appointment, Kibble had been global brand and marketing director at British maternity retailer Mothercare for almost two years.
Prior to that, he was group retail brand director (amongst other senior positions) at etailer Shop Direct, where he launched Very.co.uk and rebranded Littlewoods Direct, its Irish site.
Kibble commented on his new position, “I am delighted to be joining the team. Argos has undergone significant digital transformation in the last three years, including the market-leading FastTrack delivery proposition.
"This, combined with the recent Sainsbury’s acquisition, makes it an exciting time to join the business."
Argos sells more than 60,000 items under the Argos and Habitat brand names.
