UK retailer Sainsbury's has announced plans to install fresh water stands in 326 supermarkets in the UK.
The refill stands, which will be available from August, will help in reducing the use of single-use plastics by giving customers the option to refill their own bottles.
The retail giant has also announced that customers can now bring their own containers for purchases from its fresh and deli counters in supermarkets.
'Reducing Plastic Waste'
Sainsbury’s chief executive Mike Coupe said, "Allowing customers to refill their own water bottles and re-use food containers is further evidence of our commitment to reducing unnecessary plastic waste."
Sainsbury’s offers 25p off on hot drinks across all cafes when a customer brings a re-usable cup.
Recently, the retailer also launched the trial of a reverse vending machine for collecting plastic bottles for recycling.
