Swedish retailer ICA Group has announced a 4.3% increase in sales year on year across its stores for the month of June 2018.
Overall, sales in ICA stores totalled SEK 10.52 million excluding VAT (€1.03 million) for the month, an increase of 4.3% compared with last year. The rise for H1 2018 is almost as strong, with the group posting SEK 58.05 million in sales (€5.67 million), a 3.8% increase compared to H1 2017.
In May, like-for-like sales increased 5.5%, with all store banners posting growth.
Convenience Store Nära In The Lead
Though every banner of the group registered growth during June and H1 2018, the group's convenience store banner ICA Nära saw the largest increase, reaching 5.9% for the month of June, representing a 6.4% growth compared with the same month last year.
The ICA Group is the largest retailer of food and health products in Scandinavia, and currently operates 1,284 stores. The group's banners includes ICA Nära, Maxi ICA Stormarknad, ICA Supermarkets' and ICA Kvantum stores.
