IGD has announced the shortlist for the annual IGD Awards 2018, taking place in London on 2 October, with just under 100 retailers and FMCG firms from across Europe set to compete across 17 different categories.
Included for the first time this year is the IGD Small Store of the Year Award category, which will be sponsored by ESM: European Supermarket Magazine.
In the running for this coveted award are Amazon Go, USA; Battersea General Store, UK; FamilyMart, Japan; Fresh the Good Food Market, Ireland and Spar Netherlands.
Elsewhere, the IGD Store of the Year Award will see Albert Heijn, Netherlands; Morrisons, St Ives, UK; Target, Minneapolis, USA; Walmart Omnichannel, Tlalnepantla, Mexico and Alibaba's Hema Fresh, China, battle it out for the top honour.
Major Event
The IGD Awards has been running for more than three decades, and this year's event is set to welcome more than 600 senior executives from across the industry.
