Dutch food wholesaler and retailer Sligro has reported a revenue of €1,355 million and a net profit of €28 million for the first half of 2016. This amounts to an increase in revenue of 6.3% compared to last year, but a decrease in profit of 3.6%, compared to the same period in 2015. The overall turnover increased by 1.6%.
CEO Koen Slippens commented, “As expected, both our markets are growing, step by step. The difference in revenue between the various market segments in the foodservice market is still significant, but in both our business areas we have seen an increase in sales in the second quarter”.
Sligro Food Group operates in The Netherlands and Belgium. It serves all segments of the Dutch and Belgian food market, including (corporate) catering, service stations, institutions, schools and and trades with retail businesses from sole traders to restaurant chains.
