Spain's DIA Group is embarking on an initiative to revamp more than 2,000 of its DIA Market stores.
The goal is to improve customers' shopping experience by providing a wide array of services and products that are tailored to their needs, the company said.
On 6 March, the first four renovated stores, located in the provinces of Madrid and Catalonia, were opened to the public.
The refurbishment will affect both group-owned and franchised outlets, DIA Group said. There will be changes in both design and product offer.

The colour red will dominate the exterior, incorporating glass facades that let in natural light, creating a bright and warm interior.
The space will be transformed into separate zones, with an enhanced selection of fresh produce and baked goods, driven by customer demand.
A separate area for special-offer items will also be added, and all restored outlets will have LED screens to provide information about special daily promotions and DIA Group.
