Spanish optimism is on the rise, as consumer confidence in the country grew by 6% during the first half of the year.
As reported by gondoladigital.com, the figure comes from a study conducted by global consultancy company Nielsen. Spanish consumer confidence is now at 80 points, slightly above the European average of 79 points.
Some factors that are likely to impact this positive outlook in the second half of the year include Brexit and the Spanish general elections, however, the study shows a clear trend towards a more positive view of consumers regarding their employment prospects and personal finances.
This goes hand in hand with expectations of growth for the Spanish economy of approximately 3%, according to estimates from Funcas.
As consequence of this positive atmosphere, 38% of Spanish consumers consider that this is a good time to buy things they need (last year only 30% agreed to that statement).
