Spar Croatia has opened two new stores in Križevci and Rijeka, taking the total number of outlets in the country to 113.
The store in Križevci, a first in the central Croatian town, has a sales area of 1,231 square-metres and employs around 23 people.
It offers an extensive range of products with a strong focus on locally sourced goods, including chocolate from Hedona - a social enterprise founded by the Association of Disabled People in Križevci.
Further Investment
Helmut Fenzl, chief executive of Spar Croatia, said, "We are proud to open a Spar Supermarket in Križevci and to continue the expansion of our store network in this region.
"We plan to invest and further expand our network, making the brand accessible to as many customers as possible across the country."
The second supermarket, launched in Rijeka, is the sixth Spar outlet in the city. The 1,470 square-metre store is located in a residential area in the Marti retail park in the district of Martinkovac.
Better Accessibility
Commenting on the new store, Fenzl, said, "With three Spar Supermarkets and two Interspar Hypermarkets already in operation in Rijeka, we are thrilled to have launched our sixth in the city.
"We are pleased that our new stores in Rijeka are increasingly located in neighbourhoods, providing our customers with better accessibility and greater choice."
The supermarket offers an extensive range of products including a-brands, private-labels, a wide selection of Despar Italia Own-Brand products, as well as other well-known Italian brands.
It also focuses on stocking locally-sourced fresh produce, the retailer said.
