Spar has announced a string of new store openings in Spain in association with partners Fragadis, Roges Supermercats and Spar Gran Canaria.
The move is aimed at strengthening Spar’s position in the Spanish market.
The new stores range from small convenience outlets to large supermarkets.
New Stores
Spar partner Fragadis launched its thirteenth Spar store in Binaced in Huesca.
The new 496 square-metre store is energy efficient and offers all the amenities of local supermarkets, Spar said.
It houses a wide range of products from leading brands, private-label lines, local and fresh foods, as well as freshly baked breads and pastries.
The Spar partner has also reopened a store Altorricón in Huesca. The renovated Spar supermarket is three times its original size, and is equipped with LED technology that provides sustainable high-quality lighting.
Other Launches
Elsewhere, Roges Supermercats has opened a new 200 square-metre Spar store in Manresa in Barcelona province.
The main highlights of the new store are its fresh produce and bakery sections.
Lastly, Spar Gran Canaria opened an Express format store in Las Canteras at the end of 2018, while in January of this year, it inaugurated a 2,000 square meter Spar supermarket.
