Spar Austria has started selling its new ‘Fructura Thermal’ organic range of vegetables. The new range, produced in Bad Blumau in Styria (Austria) is available in all Spar stores across the country.
“Austrian vegetables are full of flavour throughout the year – this is what our customers ask for, said Dr. Gerhard Drexel, CEO of SPAR Austria. “ The fact that the products are grown locally, in an eco-friendly way, is the icing on the cake”.
Elsewhere, Spar Graz has launched its first batch of organic ‘city honey’, produced by its on-site beehives at the Graz Floßlendstraße branch in Styria (Austria). The first 90 kilograms of Graz’ city honey are available from five selected local Spar branches.
Spar Graz helped to establish the six beehives, which support a bee population of around 200,000 bees, as part of a conservation project in May 2015. Due to its success, the project will be continued for a second year.
