SPAR Austria has named Sarah Muckenhuber as the new key account manager of its Marchtrenk-based coffee roasting and tea packaging business, Regio, with immediate effect.
Commenting on her new role, Muckenhuber stated, "I am happy that I can now live out my personal passion for coffee professionally at Regio and represent the brand externally!
"From my point of view, what makes it particularly exciting is that every step from the delivery of the green coffee to the roasting, quality control, packaging and delivery of the finished products takes place on site at the Regio plant."
An Experienced Professional
Muckenhuber, a native of Upper Austria, brings years of experience in the food and retail sector, having worked with a domestic coffee brand, the food industry and dm drogerie markt.
Her main tasks in the new role include developing the Regio brand further, conceptualising and organising sales promotion activities for SPAR branches and overseeing the distribution of Regio to independent SPAR retailers.
SPAR Austria’s food retail business reported sales growth of 3.9%, amounting to €8.63 billion, in its 2021 financial year.
This growth was above the Austrian food retail industry’s average decline of -0.3%, the retailer noted, citing estimates by Nielsen.
In January of this year, the retailer announced the appointment of Robert Pichler as the new divisional logistics manager at the retailer's Maria Saal headquarters, responsible for logistics and flow of goods at the location.
