Spar Austria has announced that it opened a new supermarket in Eckertstraße, in the district of Eggenberg, on 5 October.
The company says that the new store provides a 'spacious, inviting and clearly designed shopping area', which is mainly focused on fruit, vegetables and the delicatessen department.
“We want to create sympathetic, open places that make shopping an experience, ” said Christoph Holzer, managing director of Spar Steiermark and Südburgenland.
Store Features
The store is also focused on sustainability, by installing LED lighting systems and refrigerators which reduce energy consumption. The outlet features two e-filling stations with sustainable fuel.
To celebrate the opening, Spar Steiermark and Südburgenland has donated €2,500 to a local non-profit organisation based in Graz that helps disabled people.
“Social responsibility is at the top of our corporate philosophy,” added Holzer.
