Spar Belgium has rolled out a new store concept in a recently renovated supermarket in Ressaix.
Changes to the 750 square-metre store include a modern, attractive store design with a clear layout to provide local customers with the best shopping experience.
Accessibility
The store, which employs 15 people, is located on a busy street among several businesses, schools, and sports clubs.
It offers a 60-space car park behind the store for improved accessibility.
One of the store's features is its bakery section, which keeps the shelves stocked with a wide assortment of fresh bread throughout the day.
The new station includes a proofing cabinet to offer fresh bread prepared and baked onsite.
Spar Belgium retailer Alexandre Cerone said, "We have also expanded the assortment of ready-made dishes. In our delicatessen and wine section, we have installed a tablet that offers customers advice on wine-food pairing as well as personalised suggestions."
"Organic and local products also take up a very important place instore, as I prefer to source from regional producers so that our customers can discover these products," Cerone added.
Sustainability
Spar Ressaix now includes environmentally friendly technologies that reduce its environmental footprint and energy consumption.
It includes a full LED lighting system and CO2 refrigeration units.
In chilling systems, CO2 is a more expensive gas than the traditional Freon, but it is more efficient in the long term.
This choice for modernity improves the store's environmental footprint and comfort and is in line with Spar's goal of improving sustainability and creating a more robust customer experience.
