Spar Hungary has announced that it has modernised some 20 Spar stores across the country, to commemorate its 25th anniversary, as well as open a number of new outlets.
The biggest refurbishment project took place at the Pesterzsébet Interspar outlet in Budapest, which originally opened in 1998. This refurbishment incorporated the addition of a market-like fruit and vegetable section at the entrance to the store, an instore bakery department, and a health and wellness area.
In addition, the 600 square metre store was fitted out with environmentally-friendly refrigeration systems, and LED lighting throughout.
Spar Hungary operates 345 Spar supermarkets, 32 Interspar hypermarkets and 108 Spar stores across the country, and employs more than 13,000 people.
