The first Eurospar supermarket has opened in the northern Italian city of Modena, launched by franchisee Aspiag Service.
The medium-sized neighbourhood store was built in six months and has a sales area of 1,500 square metres. Customers have around 15,000 references at their disposal, mainly food products.
The new Eurospar has adopted a range of environmentally-friendly systems. The heat produced by the refrigerated counters is entirely recovered, partly for the production of hot water, and for the air conditioning.
The food refrigeration system uses CO2, making it more efficient and environmentally friendly. Meanwhile, the lighting, as in all the new and renovated stores of Aspiag Service, is fully-LED, both inside and outside.
Expansion
Aspiag Service has also opened two new Spar supermarkets in the Veneto region.
In Camisano Vicentino, the Eurospar store has a sales area of 1,450 square metres and offers a range of about 15,000 items.
It also features the same energy efficiency standards as the store in Modena. Special prominence is given to customer service, with the inclusion of butcher and bakery departments.
Elsewhere, a small Despar supermarket has opened in the centre of Padua, which is 258 square metres in size.
