SPAR has announced an expansion of its partnership with Dutch food ordering and delivery firm Thuisbezorgd.nl after a successful pilot with various stores.
From July 2023, more than 50 SPAR branches in the Netherlands will offer a range of around 900 SKUs through the Thuisbezorgd.nl app and website.
This will include fresh sandwiches, salads, wraps, chilled drinks, smoothies, bread, milk and toiletries and other last minute essentials, the retailer said.

Thuisbezorgd.nl, part of the Just Eat Takeaway group, and SPAR have been working together since April 2022.
Groceries are delivered to the customers' doorsteps by e-bike and bicycle. All Thuisbezorgd.nl couriers are insured, receive training and are provided with the distinctive orange delivery bag and clothing.
The products are delivered from the store of the relevant independent SPAR entrepreneur.
The retailer said this ensures that the fresh products are made in the store and are ready to be delivered to the consumer within 35 minutes of ordering.

John van der Ent, chief executive of SPAR Netherlands said, "The combination of Thuisbezorgd.nl's large network and its own deliverers adds nice additional turnover for our independent entrepreneurs. This is another step towards our mission as king of convenience. In addition, supplier Coca-Cola Enterprise will be the first launching partner."

Elsewhere, in August 2022, PLUS announced a partnership with delivery firm Thuisbezorgd.nl for a six-month grocery delivery pilot from five of its supermarkets.
