Spar Netherlands is opening three new Spar City convenience stores this month in the Hague, Amersfoort and Leeuwarden, reports Distrifood.
The retailer currently has 35 Spar City stores across the country, but plans to have 50 in operation by the end of 2017.
"With the opening of these three City stores and what we are planning to open, we are well on schedule," said Sjaak Kranendonk, general manager of Spar Holding.
Convenience Retail
Spar City stores are focused on attracting passers-by with a wide selection of convenience products.
The stores feature a range of food to go items such as sandwiches, smoothies, coffee and pastries, as well as healthy lunch options and ready to eat dinners.
