The continued growth in the convenience sector has motivated Spar Netherlands to open a number of new 'Spar City' stores recently, in the cities of Eindhoven, Zutphen, Breda, Zwolle and Amsterdam.
The latest Spar City store opened in Amsterdam, in the Kinkerstraat. The new store, which is managed by experienced retailer Carlo Janmaat, is the sixth Spar City store to open in the Dutch capital. Located on a busy road, its assortment includes the usual range of fresh and convenience products, sandwiches, smoothies, coffee and pastries, in addition to convenient breakfast- and lunch options and ready-meals.
Spar Netherlands has also entered into an agreement with EFR, which is the operator of the Texaco service stations in the Netherlands, to open three new 'Spar Express' forecourt outlets, in January 2017. The forecourt outlets will follow the 'Spar City store' format.
