Spar’s one-person convenience store is on a sailing tour in Friesland in the Netherlands from 14 to 19 July.
The initiative is part of the retailer’s summer campaign and makes it the first convenience store to take to the water in the Netherlands, Spar added.
It will offer tourists and day trippers a range of breakfast and lunch items as well as snacks and beverages.
Responding To Demand
CEO of Spar Netherlands, John van der Ent added that the store responds to the ‘new normal’ by allowing one person at a time.
The sailing store will stop in Leeuwarden, Woudsend and Franeker during the tour, the retailer added.
Last month, Spar Netherlands launched a one-person mobile store and announced plans to take it to tourist locations with limited facilities.
