International retailer Spar is continuing its expansion in the Middle East with a new store opening in Oman.
The Spar Express store is located at the al Maha petrol station beside al Khoud-Sultan Qaboos University. This is part of a partnership with al Maha petrol operators which will see 15 forecourt stores converted to Spar Express in 2017.
Store Features
Spar Oman describes this store as a 'new approach to neighbourhood retailing', which incorporates features 'beyond the traditional convenience store offer'.
The new Spar Express outlet will offer a wide range of products including fresh fruit and vegetables, frozen meat, ready meals, confectionery and snack foods. It also features an in-store coffee shop.
The retailer opened its first store in Oman in February 2015 and is planning to continue expanding its operations in 2017. Last year saw turnover in Oman increase by 193% to €18 million.
