Spar Oman has opened its tenth supermarket in the country, the first to be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The company launched a massive marketing campaign to publicise the new supermarket, sending flyers to 15,000 homes in the area and 100,000 text messages to consumers.
It features a large range of fresh service departments such as fish and seafood, fruit and vegetables, food-to-go, as well as a butcher's counter.
Located in Madinat Darsait, the 630-metre square store is optimal for families and single households, and caters to expats as well as locals.
Devendra Kumar, head of SPAR Oman’s retail division said: “SPAR Oman brings customers global offerings along with the best of local produce. Our team is working relentlessly to create the highest value across our entire product range. Freshness, value, choice and excellent service form the bedrock of our retail strategy.”
Spar only entered the Oman market in 2014. Spar International announced global retail sales of €33 billion for 2015, representing an increase of 3.5 per cent on 2014’s results.
