SPAR Portugal has reached its 100-store milestone following the opening of four stores in one day this past April.
The retailer has grown its stores nationwide and across the islands, by partnering with local independent businesses.
SPAR stores are located throughout Portugal, with the majority situated in tourist regions such as The Algarve, Madeira and the Azores, Lisbon and in other mainland markets.
SPAR Portugal have concentrated on making investments in company owned stores since 2014, an initiative which has allowed for independent retailer recruitment, and trialing new SPAR products across 19 stores.
An additional 12 AliSuper stores have been acquired by SPAR Portugal across the Algarve which will concentrate on the tourist market.
To accommodate the nationwide expansion, the retailer has opened a 6,000 m² warehouse in Alverca, Lisbon, to improve operational processes across the stores.
