Spar Poland is trialling a new Spar Express store in Krakow, as part of the retailer's plans to expand its convenience format in the country.
The new store is located close to a popular tourist destination, Wawel Castle, and so features signs in both Polish and English to address the needs of international visitors.
It will feature a wide range of fresh and food-to-go products, including sandwiches, wraps, salads and fresh juice. Costa coffee will also be offered in-store, accompanied by a selection of muffins, donuts and croissants.
Expansion Plans
Spar Poland plans to roll out this concept to other city centre locations, after examining the response to this trial store, with new outlets tailored to each city.
The company says that being able to offer this alternative concept will help attract new independent retailers.
