One of Spar Austria’s outlets in Schönberg near Salzburg has been awarded with the 'Forum Land-Preis'. Once a year, the award is given to companies that show special commitment to rural areas.
Siblings Ramona and Thomas Gietl have run the Spar outlet and cafe in Schönberg since 2005. The store supplies daily warm meals to a local nursery, a primary school and other places, and operates a catering service that is available all the way to Innsbruck.
Local Products
Whenever possible, local products are sold in the store. “As a Spar market, we can offer a wide range of Tyrolean quality products. In addition, we are always trying to include specialities from local farmers,” said Ramona Gietl.
Once a week, freshly baked bread is supplied by the neighbouring community. The yoghurt and eggs are produced by local farmers, as well as bacon and honey. The store also serves as a post office partner and sells flowers of local gardeners.
