SPAR Switzerland has expanded its forecourt business with the addition of two new stores in Langenthal and Pratteln in March in collaboration with AVIA and Autogrill.
The SPAR Express outlet in Langenthal is managed by AVIA – the largest forecourt operator in Switzerland.
The opening of the new store follows the acquisition of 60 AVIA forecourt stores from Store Service AG on 1 January 2021, SPAR added.
The state-of-the-art store offers customers a balanced range of products that meet daily needs and select fresh goods.
It houses a delicatessen counter offering cheese and meat specialties.
Fresh bread is baked throughout the day in the store, and it also offers a wide range of fruit and vegetables, the retailer added.
A highlight of the store is the bistro corner with seating areas as well as a self-service offering.
The store, operated by a team of eight, ensures compliance with COVID-19 regulations.
Store In Pratteln
The second new store in Pratteln is a modernised and reconstructed SPAR Express outlet, with a sales area of 120 square metres.
SPAR Switzerland is expanding its collaboration with motorway service area operator Autogrill with this store.
The store offers a wide range of fresh products, such as fruit and vegetables, dairy products, cheese, and meat.
Fresh flowers, souvenirs, and confectionery items are also available, the retailer added.
The store’s coffee corner offers takeaway snacks and fresh Italian coffee.
Once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, shoppers will also be able to enjoy coffee and treats in-store, SPAR said.
“We are available for our customers 24/7, 365 days a year, and offer them everyday items as part of our fast, time-independent shopping option”, added Martin Koco, manager of the new SPAR Express store.
