Spar UK has announced that it has teamed up with Certas Energy to operate convenience stores in all its 35 filling stations in the country.
The retailer will carry out store refurbishments and re-branding in the forecourt outlets before opening its doors to customers over the coming months.
'Collaborative Partnership'
Retail director of Spar UK, Ian Taylor, commented, "Our businesses have great synergy; we are both committed to developing our UK forecourt operations and believe that a successful business that allows a customer to grow and prosper is best achieved by a collaborative partnership approach.
"Certas Energy has made a significant investment to increase the customer experience across all of its forecourts and we look forward to playing our part in its future growth," he added.
Certas Energy embarked on this partnership after a rigorous tender process, the retailer said.
An Impressive Portfolio
The fuel distributor was impressed with Spar UK’s technical expertise, resources, retail experience, consumer insight, and market knowledge along with its vast range of products, especially in the fresh foods and food-to-go segments.
Retail director of Certas Energy, Richard Billington, said, "The forecourt shop has an increasingly important role within any local community and working with the UK’s leading symbol group will ensure that we are able to maximise the potential across all of our retail assets."
