The president of French retailer Monoprix, Stéphane Maquaire, is stepping down from the role to continue his career outside of the Casino Group.
According to trade news website, Lsa-Conso.fr, there have been rumours of Maquaire’s departure for some months, though these were denied by parent group Casino.
Maquaire (42) began his work with Monoprix in 2007 as its director of finance and development, before being appointed as director general in 2010 and president in 2013.
He will continue his work with Monoprix until May 8, when his successor, who has yet to be announced, will take over.
