Poundland, the most prominent single-price retailer in Europe, has registered 9.8-per cent growth for the third quarter of its 2015 fiscal year.
Excluding its five new experimental outlets in Spain, the figure stands at 10.2 per cent.
On the back of this success, Poundland, which sells its products at the price point of £1, will increase its Irish and British presence. Its management stated, "We are on track to open 60 new stores in the UK and Ireland, and we have a very strong pipeline for our 2016 financial year."
The fiscal quarter in question is that which incorporates Christmas. It was strong, and it is very likely that the retailer will achieve its goals for its financial year overall.
Without its Spanish stores' figures factored into the computation, its total revenue stood at £328.4 million.
