LSA-Nielsen research has shown FMCG sales in France are rising strongly this month.
For the week 1 February to 8 February, the value of sales was up by 3 per cent, while sales volumes were up by 3.6 per cent.
The figures incorporate the business of hypermarkets, supermarkets, hard-discount stores, and drive-in convenience stores.
Nielsen said "Consumption [in France] has continued to improve at an elevated pace since the beginning of the year, most notably last week with growth of 3 per cent for value, and 3.6 per cent for volume."
Fresh produce was the FMCG category that demonstrated the strongest growth (+4 per cent).
