Tesco has announced that Jill Easterbrook, its current Group Business Transformation Director and a 15-year veteran at the retailer, will depart at the start of next year.
Easterbrook joined Tesco in 2001, and held a number of positions at the retailer, including Director of Corporate Affairs, Group Strategy Director, Managing Director of Developing Businesses and Chief Customer Officer.
She joined the retailer from Capgemini, having previously held a merchandising position with Marks & Spencer.
The news will come as a blow to Tesco CEO Dave Lewis, who is seeking to turn around the retailer's fortunes following a decline in sales and the 2014 accounting scandal.
