Tesco boss Dave Lewis is set to axe as many as 10,000 jobs as he looks to turn around the fortunes of the UK's largest supermarket chain, according to reports.
The Sunday Telegraph reports that Tesco is ready to cull 6,000 jobs from its head office in England.
The move comes after Tesco announced last month it would close 43 stores, putting 2,000 jobs at risk.
Lewis, who has been in charge for a little over four months, is expected to swing the axe once again with more jobs to go.
It's predicated that there will also be the removal of an entire layer of management from stores.
Those in the middle managements roles affected will be offered alternative positions, according to the report.
Tesco recently returned to sales growth for the first time in a year, a welcomed boost for the grocer who is trying to compete in an industry price war with the discounters.
