British retailer The Co-operative Food has announced the appointment of Emma Weintroub as its new regional acquisitions manager for the Central and Eastern regions.
Weintroub has built up 26 years’ experience in the property industry.
She will be responsible for the acquisition of sites for new food stores and she will also manage opportunities for store relocations.
The Co-operative Food has signed agreements on more than 150 stores since the start of this year.
It plans to open over 100 new shops in the next 12 months.
In other recent news, The Co-operative Electrical was rated joint second best online retailer for electrical products in the UK by consumer champion Which?. The retailer scored 90 per cent for electricals in a customer satisfaction poll of over 10,000 Which? members - missing out on the number one spot for electrical retailers by just one per cent. James Holland, managing director at The Co-operative Electrical, said: “The Co-operative, offers a free, time-specific delivery slot and courier service on all electrical items purchased online and we fully back the Which? campaign to put the brakes on dodgy home delivery services.”
Co-operative Electrical recently became the first online electrical retailer to sell all extended warranties on electrical products at cost.
The business has pledged to make no profit on the insurance option on a range of products, including cookers, fridge freezers, televisions and washing machines.
