Today's Group and Landmark Wholesale have announced details of the leadership team for the new Unitas Wholesale business.
Sam Wilcox is to become chairman of Unitas Wholesale with Simon Hannah of JW Filshill named as deputy chairman.
In addition, Darren Goldney has been named as the new managing director of the business, with John Mills named deputy managing director.
Working Collaboratively
“Darren and John have worked hard and collaboratively over recent months to cut through previous organisational differences and focus on the vision and strategy that will work for both groups’ members and suppliers in the long term and both Boards thank them," Sam Wilcox said in a statement.
"Their complementary range of skills will be vital to drive our development agenda and bring the great experiences of both organisations together to form a new one.”
Excellent Opportunity
The newly-formed Unitas organisation will have a combined turnover in excess of £8 billion, and will 'represent wholesalers selling and distributing to thousands of outlets across every trade channel', Today's said in a statement.
'This is an excellent opportunity for suppliers and independent wholesalers to work together in a way that drives greater efficiency and effectiveness in getting products and services to market.'
Other appointments include Andrew Thewlis, who has been named finance director, John Baines, the company's new trading director, and John Kinney, who has been named retail director.
"All three bring fabulous experience, knowledge, skills and above all, they possess the determination to make Unitas a huge success," said Wilcox.
