Wouter Kolk has taken charge as CEO of Ahold Delhaize Europe and Indonesia, three months ahead of schedule, the company said in a press release.
Ahold Delhaize CEO Frans Muller said that the decision to start early was taken to make the most of growth opportunities in Europe.
“Under Wouter’s leadership, we will focus on supporting our great local brands, delivering local strategies, building scalable capabilities, and savings for our customers,” Muller added.
Other Responsibilities
Kolk will also be responsible for the company’s European digital and e-commerce initiatives.
He will be supported by a lean and dedicated team comprising a chief financial officer, a chief human resources officer, and a head of strategy, the retailer said, adding that it is currently undertaking a recruitment process for these roles.
